3 killed in Cox’s Bazar road crash

COX’S BAZAR: A bus collided head-on with a CNG-powered auto rickshaw on Marine Drive Street of Cox’s Bazar, killing at least three persons, and injuring three others on Monday (January 8).

The deceased were identified as- CNG driver Nurul Abcar, 26, son of Syed Hossain, of Baharchora Shamlapur Puranpara area under Teknaf upazila, Caydul Islam, 55, son of late Haji Sikandar. The other could not be identified.

In-charge (Acting) of Himchari police outpost of the Marine Drive Street Abdul Halim told Banglanews that accident took place at 11:45 am.

The wounded were taken to local hospital.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Cox’s Bazar Afrozul Haque Tutul said CNG and the bus were in police custody. Legal actions will be taken later.
